Welcome to our story circles...
The Story Collective holds a story circle once a month as a chance to come together, in a very informal way, to tell and listen to stories. They are for anyone interested in stories - from traditional tales and songs to poetry and newly written pieces. The story circles are a chance for tellers to hone their skills or for writers to try out their creations or work in progress.
What happens at story circles?
The first part of the evening includes a discussion of the theme then focuses on a 'Story skill' – such as working with the voice, gesture, gaze and meaning.
Then, anyone who wants to may share something. You are welcome to bring a short story to tell... no more than 8 minutes long please.
Who are story circles for?
Story circles welcome seasoned and beginning storytellers alike, also speakers of poetry and prose. Please come along – all are welcome, bring a friend!
We welcome listeners too.
Our last story circle of 2016 will be at The Last Word, 31 New Regent Street from 7.30pm onwards. This will be a very informal gathering, a chance to celebrate what has been an amazing year for us . We have lots in store for 2017! Including a new venue - watch this space! Better still, if you have suggestions or ideas please get in touch: firstname.lastname@example.org
